Hemp Could Save the Planet

Hemp Could Save the Planet

Hemp could help Save The Planet!  When we think of saving the world and supporting the environment, what can we really do about it?

When we think of clearing the air to regenerate soil and providing a balanced body, think of hemp.  These are just a couple of incredible reasons hemp is beneficial to our lives and planet.  Take a second to read below some other great reasons why Hemp Could Save the Planet!

1. Hemp Breathes in Co2

Hemp acts as nature’s purifier. Quickly, the hemp plant can capture carbon dioxide and make our air cleaner. In fact, hemp can be more effective than trees to capture carbon dioxide.  Every ton of hemp that is produced, 1.63 tons of carbon is removed from the air!  Amazing, right?

2. Hemp Regenerates the Soil

The stem and leaves of the hemp plant are jam-packed with nutrients. Firstly, as the plant matures and the seed grows, leaf matter falls to the ground. Next, it decomposes and replenishing the soil with goodness ready for the next crop. Plus, after harvesting, the remnants of the hemp plant can be returned to the soil to make a richer yield the following year.  In all, this makes another influential environmental benefit for hemp.

3. Hemp Supports Sustainable Farming

Hemp grows within just three to four months of being planted. Therefore, it’s ideal for rotation and makes for a wonderful environmental benefit.  Farmers on the mainland can get up to two-crop rotations per year. However, farmers in Hawaii can get up to three rotations!  So, this would help with sustainability of our planet all year long.  Most important, farmers can benefit from cleaner soil and greater crop yield.

4. Doesn’t Require Pesticides

Hemp doesn’t require any pesticides or herbicides to grow, unlike other fibers like cotton.  Exposure to these toxins has been proven to cause environmental and health problems. Now we have a solution!  Use hemp all over the world and reduce the amount of toxins and pollutants in our air and water.

5. Hemp Prevents Soil Erosion

The roots of the hemp plant grow deep and strong.  Actually, the hemp plant can grow up to nine feet deep! These kinds of root networks can help to hold soil together and prevent erosion.  Sadly, this is one of the greatest problems facing farmers today.  Hemp has even restored toxic, dead soil that was already damaged. It’s definitely the real deal!

6. Hemp Needs Little Water to Grow

Hemp has the amazing ability to irrigate itself naturally.  Therefore, it requires very little water to grow and thrive. The best part is that this sets hemp apart from other natural fiber plants like cotton.  These plants requires a lot more water.

7. Hemp can Produce Thousands of Products

Did you know that hemp can be used to produce over 25,000 products?! That’s amazing!! That means that absolutely nothing goes to waste with this sacred plant. Another amazing environmental benefit of hemp is that it can produce healthy food products.  In addition, the flowers are used to make beauty products and the stalk can be used for natural fiber.

8. Hemp Absorbs Toxic Metals

We’ve discussed how hemp can clean the air and replenish our soil, however, it can also eliminate harmful toxins.  Incredibly, this can be done by absorbing them. Did you know, hemp was used after the nuclear disaster at Chernobyl to remove radioactive Strontium and Cesium. In addition, hemp has also been considered to remove radiation from Fukushima.

9. Hemp Provides a Habitat for Wildlife

Hemp plants grow up to three feet tall, which makes them an excellent little hiding place for wildlife.  Plus, when hemp flowers bloom, they’re good pollen source for bees.

10. Hemp Could Help ‘Save The Planet’

Scientists across the world now believe that within 100-years, there will be no rainforest. However, there is hope in hemp. While trees take years to mature, hemp can be grown in just four months. The plant could, therefore, replace trees as the source of raw material for paper. Hemp is amazing for our planet.  In conclusion, it may just be a source we need to save!

11. Hemp Produces CBD

Thousands of people across the world are turning to CBD to help with their health challenges.  Most people are now starting to use plant medicine instead of synthetic medication.  Even our pets have benefited with CBD from arthritis to anxiety and more.  In addition, there are no side effects or overdose use with CBD. This is our way to restore our health in such a big easy way, thanks to another incredible benefit of growing hemp. Can you see how hemp could help save our planet? Let’s make this happen, together!

CBD for pets is one of many natural approaches to help your furry friend. Though, you may be wondering if CBD is a completely ‘safe’ option for your pet. Read below, about the ‘How’s and Why’s’ CBD is a great option for any pet!

Endocannabinoid System and CBD
Firstly, it is important to consider how the endocannabinoid system, that exists in the human body, works. The endocannabiniod system not only exists in our bodies, but within all mammals, birds, reptiles and fish, too. It has been knows as “the most important physiologic system involved in establishing and maintaining human health.” Most health challenges and illnesses are now being attributed to a endocannabinoid deficiency. Excitingly, these health challenges can be treated with CBD.

Will my pet get a ‘High’ from Hemp CBD?
Funny enough, when people think of CBD for pets, they may have the image of giving a dog or cat a ‘joint’ to smoke. The ‘High’ affect is from large amounts of THC. Contrary to popular belief (and fear), CBD is not capable of giving you nor your pet any ‘high’ symptoms. Because, Hemp CBD has a very low THC amount (.3% or less) not allowing any mind altering symptoms.

Actually, it’s the recreational cannabis that contains THC, the compound responsible for the ‘high’ and mind-altering effects users feel from smoking marijuana.

Also, it’s important to find a CBD for your pet that originates from agricultural or medicinal hemp. Cannabis plants are cultivated for their rich content of CBD and other cannabinoids, with very little to NO-THC. Hemp CBD oil is non-psychotropic, which means it doesn’t affect the mind, emotions or behavior of an individual. In order for Hemp CBD to be legal, it must contain less than 0.3% THC (which is far, far below the amount needed to induce mind-altering effects). Read more on our blog...
